8/21 From Noon – 3pm featuring a lunch time happy hour! Special Eclipse glasses available for guest’s viewing pleasures!
Wild Flower lovers stay tuned this summer as we revamp both our food and drink menus! Come in to try our new items, review them, and help us redefine what it means to be a Wild Flower!
Let’s begin with our first trial drink: Miss American Rye. This cocktail will take you on a journey. Crafted with Rittenhouse Rye and Pama Liqueur, she leads with a bite. Finished with lemon juice, cane syrup, and mint, a fine way to nurture your palette and keep you refreshed on these stifling summer days.
The Miss American Rye will be debuting early next week. Ask your server or bartender for more information!
This Monday, JOIN US for a special Memorial Day Brunch! Regular menu. Reservations recommended. Check out our menu here!
Last week we were joined by a few ladies from the community for a tasting. The party was small, so we were able to set up a mock special event table to showcase some of the catering options we offer. (BONUS: I got to show off my napkin folding skillz)
Our guests had a fantastic time, but it was rivaled by the fun that was being had in the kitchen. One of our chefs, Alexis, got to unleash her creativity with sweet chili salmon skewers, sweet potato and avocado bites, and gazpacho with roasted pineapple. My mouth was watering just looking at them!
It’s always interesting to watch the kitchen during an event like this. Our tiny cook line and prep area are stretched to the gills facilitating a loft event without letting restaurant food quality slip below our standards. Watching our cooks balance their responsibilities can sometimes be like a circus act. Acrobats high in the air with a skillet in each hand, bouncing back and forth from the ingredients to the salamander to the oven to the flat top. There is no better feeling than when we are able to work not as many cogs, but as one giant machine, bringing vibrancy and life to our little corner of the Central West End.
This month our owner, Tracy Czarnec, began her yearly planting crusade, determined to cover Wild Flower’s patio and loft space with greenery. The rain was coming in sheets, which made planting insufferable, but Tracy persisted. Unfortunately, she was unable to plant in one area due to an unexpected visitor. A morning dove the size of a cantaloupe had made a nest in one of our planters. And nuzzled underneath the bird, we found two babies!
Of course we had to let them stay. We are thrilled to say the babies flew the nest just this past week. Maybe we will see them again next year!
Wild Flower recently participated in Dining Out for Life! We know our diners like to invest in neighborhood issues just as much as they love eating local. On April 27th, a portion of our proceeds were donated to local AIDS prevention and care. Dining Out for Life has come and gone, but St. Louisans must continue in their efforts to Fight AIDS. We ask that our followers stay vigilant and help us take care of our beautiful community! Here are some pics of our front of house staff on the day of the event. Thank you Ali, Ryan, Logan, and Alex for making the day a success! Even the pups had fun!
